Mae Ngat Valley - Mae Taeng Forest Reserve
Starting from your hotel in Chiang Mai, this river adventure begins with a pickup service in the morning at 830 am. Once you reach the launch site at the Mae Ping River, your guide will provide you with paddling instructions for your single or double kayak. After some practice, we effortlessly flow with the river's current, maneuvering between sand banks and shores.
The river's refreshing water keeps the surroundings pleasantly cool, and the absence of modern civilization creates a serene atmosphere. As you paddle, catch glimpses of rural life, including fisherman casting nets into the Mae Ping and farmers herding water buffaloes. Keep an eye out for native and migrating bird species that flourish in this protected region.
Take a break on the riverbank to enjoy a snack, and then continue kayaking towards your ultimate destination at the Mae Tang Forest Reserve. Here, a verdant canopy of trees provides shade, and you'll savor a freshly cooked Thai meal at a restaurant situated amidst a picturesque mango plantation.
Finally, the trip concludes with a drive back to your Chiang Mai hotel.
