The Monlong Peak Trail is a challenging route that ascends steeply for 1300 meters, making it a demanding hike. However, the trail's stunning views of the Mesa valley and Suthep mountain range are well worth the effort. As you make your way up the trail, you'll need to pace yourself at 100-meter intervals to ensure you don't burn out too quickly.
The hike is a 6-kilometer uphill trek that typically takes fit hikers between 3.5 to 4.5 hours to complete. But don't let the challenging terrain discourage you – the rewarding views from the summit will make all the sweat and effort worthwhile.
Once you reach the top, you'll be greeted with refreshments and lunch at altitude, providing a much-needed respite after your strenuous climb. The view from the summit is breathtaking, and on clear days, you may find yourself above the clouds.
For those with the stamina and skills, a long downhill mountain bike ride awaits on the road back to the valley floor. But if you're feeling beat by the Peak, you can cool off and rest at the back of the truck.
Overall, the Monlong Peak Trail is a fantastic challenge for those seeking a rewarding and scenic hike. With breathtaking views, refreshing refreshments, and the option for a thrilling downhill bike ride, this trail is sure to be an unforgettable experience for any adventurer.
